Article DetailsDetailsHelp DetailsQuestion: I forgot my NOM user account password and now my account is locked out. Answer: NOM user accounts having NOM Admin role can manage other user accounts. NOM Admin can reset the password of other NOM users as described in the screenshot below. Question: How are NOM users locked out? Answer : NOM does not utilize a permanent lock out mechanism, but instead has a configurable time-based lock-out. The parameters login.backoff.start_interval and login.backoff.attempts_before are available to adjust how many attempts before the delay kicks in, and for how long the initial lock out should last. Each subsequent failed login after that will double the interval (exponential) and initiate the lock-out again. This exponential lock-out mechanism aims to make brute forcing password impossible. The default is to start the lock-out at 1s after 3 failed logins. login.backoff.start_interval is specified in milliseconds, with the default being 1000login.backoff.attempts_before is specified as an integer, the default being 3 You can configure these settings in NOM server configuration values.
