Article DetailsDetailsHelp DetailsSince Aura is a managed service, we manage the instance, the underlying services, and backups. Cluster setup: As all AuraDB Virtual Dedicated Cloud instances are 3-member clusters, in the event of a single node failure, the cluster will try to recover automatically using one of the other running nodes. If this fails, we will intervene and attempt a manual recovery of the failed nodes using the available nodes.Since AuraDS instances are single-node deployments, we can only restart the failed member or restore from available backups. Restoring from Backups: AuraDB Virtual Dedicated Cloud instances are backed up multiple times every day, and the snapshots are retained for 14 days, and manually backed up snapshots for 90 days - AuraDB backup and snapshots retentionBy default, Virtual Dedicated Cloud AuraDB instances are backed up once an hour.AuraDS Virtual Dedicated Cloud instances are backed up once a day, and the snapshots are retained for 14 Days and can be manually backed up and retained for 180 days. For larger instances, this frequency might be reduced to once every 2 or 4 hours. The customer will be notified about any such changes in backup frequency. We can use these backups to recover your instance if we are unable to restore it completely from available cluster members. Cross-Region replication: Aura doesn't support native cross-region replication, but you can implement it using Aura CDC + Kafka to stream changes from one AuraDB instance to another. Set up a Kafka consumer to apply CDC events to the target instance via the Neo4j driver. Initial data sync must be done manually through a Restore from Backup Time for recovery: We provide 24/7 support for Production environments for our Virtual Dedicated Cloud customers and will act upon Sev-1 incidents as soon as we receive them. The recovery time, however, depends entirely on the instance size and the complexity of the issue. Recovery options for the customer: In the event of an unexpected data delete/wipe performed by the customer, they can recover the Aura instance to a previous state using one of the available snapshots for the instance.Customers can view and download these snapshots from the Aura Console. They also have the ability to restore the snapshots to the same Aura instance or a new one.InformationTitleWhat are the disaster recovery options in Virtual Dedicated Cloud instances?Article Created Date3/15/2024, 10:56 PMURL Name17259561671187-What-are-the-disaster-recovery-options-in-Aura-Enterprise-instancesLast Modified Date5/7/2026, 2:19 PM
